Blue Valley Senior Colton Donahue has been selected as the 2012 Gatorade Kansas Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year. The award recognizes one athlete in each state that demonstrates athletic excellence, academic achievement, and exemplary character. Donahue was dominant on the cross-country course taking home wins at Olathe East, Mill Valley, Eastern Kansas League Meet, Regionals and State.
Alli Cash was sensational in her senior season at Shawnee Mission West. Cash dominated all year long, dipping below 14 minutes three times, including a 13:59 at Rim Rock to set the course record. She capped off her high school cross-country career winning the 6A Girls State Championships by over a minute as well as placing 6th at the NXN Heartland Regional Meet. Combine her domination on the cross-country course with a 4.57 weighted GPA and a plethora of community service and Alli Cash was an easy choice to repeat for the prestigious Gatorade Kansas Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.
